Sterilizer is a commonly used sterilization device in laboratories. There are many types of sterilizers, which can be roughly divided into dry heat sterilization and moist heat sterilization. The following are several commonly used sterilization devices.
1. Autoclave
It is a device that uses high-temperature steam and high pressure generated in the machine to sterilize liquids or utensils. It belongs to moist heat sterilization.
2. Pulse vacuum sterilizer
It uses the physical property that saturated steam releases a large amount of latent heat when condensing, so that the items to be sterilized are in a high-temperature and humid state, and after a period of heat preservation, the purpose of sterilization is achieved. It is generally used to sterilize dressings and surgical instruments, and belongs to moist heat sterilization.
3. Plasma sterilizer
Also known as low-temperature plasma sterilizer, it generates glow discharge through excitation to form low-temperature plasma, and then uses hydrogen peroxide as a medium to produce a series of active ions such as hydrogen ions. These active ions have high thermal kinetic energy with rich ultraviolet rays, which can remove microorganisms in a very short time and achieve the purpose of sterilizing instruments. It belongs to moist heat sterilization.
4. Ethylene oxide sterilizer
It uses the high vapor pressure of ethylene oxide to make it have extremely high pressure at high temperature, so it has strong penetration, thus achieving the purpose of disinfection and sterilization. It belongs to moist heat sterilization.
5. Dry heat rapid sterilizer
It uses instant high temperature, light magnetic field thermal effect and non-thermal effect to achieve sterilization in a short time. It is generally suitable for sterilization of some medical devices and belongs to dry heat sterilization.
6. Dry baking sterilizer
It uses a dry oven to heat 160-180℃ for two hours to remove all microorganisms. It is suitable for sterilization of glassware, porcelain, etc., and belongs to dry heat sterilization.
7. Infrared inoculating loop sterilizer
It uses infrared heat energy for sterilization. It is a dry heat sterilization device.
