1. Before sterilization each day, check that the sterilizer door, latches, steam regulating valve, and safety valve are in good working order.

2. Clean the exhaust vents on the door, remove lint and other debris, and maintain cleanliness inside the sterilizer.

3. Inspect and maintain the sterilization equipment annually.

4. Pressure vessels should undergo a self-inspection and leak test at least monthly.

5. Establish a safety technical file for special equipment.

6. Inspect pressure vessels regularly, once a year.
