Difference of ethylene oxide sterilizer and low temperature plasma sterilizer
2024-05-14 11:17

Some precision instruments and equipment cannot be sterilized due to their inability to withstand high temperature, so various low-temperature sterilization methods have gradually emerged. Currently widely used low-temperature sterilizers include low-temperature plasma sterilizers, ethylene oxide sterilizers, etc. Then, what's the difference between them?

1. Sterilization time

One of the biggest differences between low-temperature plasma sterilizers and ethylene oxide sterilizers is the sterilization time. Low-temperature plasma sterilizer only takes 25-55 minutes for each sterilization, while ethylene oxide sterilizer take 6-8 hours.

2. Sterilization method

Low-temperature plasma sterilizers use a combination of hydrogen peroxide solution and plasma to achieve a sterilization effect. The ethylene oxide sterilizer uses ethylene oxide gas in a vacuum and low temperature environment to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, thereby achieving sterilization effects.

3. Sterilization effect

The sterilization time of low-temperature plasma sterilizer is short, but its sterilization effect is not as thorough as that of ethylene oxide sterilizer.

In addition to low-temperature sterilization, commonly used high-temperature sterilizers include steam sterilizers, autoclave sterilizers, pulse vacuum sterilizers, etc., which are suitable for medical and health services, scientific research, agriculture and other units.
